Christo, together with Jeanne-Claude, achieved international recognition with monumental projects in which buildings and landscapes were temporarily wrapped or radically transformed. Their best-known projects include Wrapped Reichstag in Berlin, The Pont Neuf Wrapped in Paris and The Gates in Central Park, New York.
Alongside these temporary projects, Christo produced drawings, collages, models and editions in which ideas for realised and unrealised projects were developed. These works reveal the process behind installations that often took years to prepare and form an independent part of his oeuvre.
