Daphne Glasmacher

1979 , Ede

Daphne Glasmacher is a multidisciplinary artist based in Amsterdam. In her work, she explores how our perception changes through light, movement, and reflection. Her works transform with the viewer's position: images shift, disappear, or become visible as you move past them.

Glasmacher works with two-dimensional pieces, objects, and video installations. Geometric shapes, rhythm, and contrast play a significant role in her creations. She combines materials like plexiglass and glass with techniques such as lenticular imagery and moving images. Light and movement are not only subjects but also determine how the work is experienced.

Her practice evolved from installation and video. In 2017, she presented a video installation during Parklicht in Amsterdam. From 2022 onwards, she began exhibiting her two-dimensional work alongside her installations.
