Regine Schumann is a German artist known for her intensive investigation of colour and light. She works primarily with coloured and fluorescent acrylic glass, whose appearance continually changes under daylight, artificial light and black light. By layering transparent planes of colour, she creates works in which light, colour and space merge.
Schumann’s work has been exhibited internationally and is held in collections including the Sprengel Museum Hannover, Museum Ritter and the Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín. She has received several awards, including the Leo Breuer Preis and the Gabriele Münter Preis.
