Collection: Eduardo Paolozzi
Eduardo Paolozzi (1924, Leith – 2005, London) was a Scottish artist who significantly influenced the Pop Art movement. Known for his large-scale sculptures, prints, and collages made from magazines and found objects, Paolozzi described his work as transforming everyday items into art, likening it to being a “wizard in Toytown.”
Born to Italian immigrants, Paolozzi’s early experiences included internment during World War II due to his Italian heritage. He studied at University College’s Slade School of Fine Art in London and later engaged with leading Surrealists and Cubists in Paris. Returning to London, he became associated with prominent artists like Lucian Freud and Francis Bacon. His career flourished with numerous public art commissions and a knighthood in 1989.
Paolozzi's works are part of major collections including the National Galleries of Scotland, The Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Tate Gallery in London. At Kunsthandel Meijer, we offer selections of Eduardo Paolozzi’s artwork. For more details or to view his pieces, please contact us or visit our gallery.
