Collection: Klaus Staudt
Klaus Staudt (1932, Otterndorf am Main, Germany) is a leading figure in constructive and concrete art in Germany. Initially studying medicine, he shifted to art after visiting the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, where he trained under Ernst Geitlinger and Georg Meistermann. In 1960, he co-founded the gallery nota in Munich with Gerhard von Graevenitz and Jürgen Morschel and joined the nouvelle tendance movement.
Staudt’s work features simple geometric forms in transparent Plexiglas, creating the illusion of movement through color, light, and shadow interplay. His art has been exhibited for over 40 years, including a 1997 retrospective at the Museum für Konkrete Kunst in Ingolstadt. His works are in major collections such as Daimler AG, the Museum of Concrete Art, Haus Konstruktiv, and Kunstmuseum Basel.
